Oct 19,2026 | Otaku Daily Shop UK

It is a big week for Ado. The music video for her new single "Raven Sky" is out now, her Tokyo Dome concert film Yodaka arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on Wednesday 21 October, the film that "Raven Sky" was written for opens in Japanese cinemas on Friday 23 October, and Ado celebrates her 24th birthday on Saturday 24 October with a members-only live show. Here is a full round-up of everything happening in Ado's world this week.

If you are just catching up, "Raven Sky" is the theme song for Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, a Japan–US co-production starring Shun Oguri, and it is one of Ado's boldest rock tracks yet. You can keep up with Ado merch at Otaku Daily in our Ado collection.

  • "Raven Sky" music video: premiered on Friday 16 October 2026 at 12:00 UK time.
  • Film tie-in: theme song of Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, starring Shun Oguri, in Japanese cinemas from Friday 23 October.
  • Yodaka Blu-ray and DVD: Ado DOME TOUR 2025 at Tokyo Dome, released Wednesday 21 October in four editions.
  • Birthday: Ado turns 24 on Saturday 24 October, with a members-only live show on 24 and 25 October.

The "Raven Sky" music video

The new video takes viewers into the inner world of a girl named Nev, built around the themes of a "heartbeat" and "the strength of life". It is built around artwork by illustrator PODO, who also drew the single's striking jacket, with the movie edit handled by ZIIEK. The visuals match the song's imagery of a crow with broken wings and an endless sky, a story about getting back up and carrying on after a fall.

Musically, "Raven Sky" is a rock track sung in a mix of English and Japanese. It was composed by Grammy-winning composer Masanori Takumi, with lyrics by Kanata Okajima and Seann Bowe. Ado's powerful, gravelly delivery suits the dark, cinematic sound, making it one of the heaviest songs in her catalogue so far.

Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo opens on 23 October

"Raven Sky" was written as the theme for Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, a crime thriller made as a Japan–US collaboration and led by Shun Oguri. The film opens in Japanese cinemas on Friday 23 October, so the song is about to reach a whole new audience on the big screen. It is a great example of how Ado's music keeps crossing over into film, anime and games, following hits such as her songs for One Piece Film: Red.

Yodaka arrives on Blu-ray and DVD

On Wednesday 21 October, Ado releases Yodaka, the concert film of her first Tokyo Dome show from Ado DOME TOUR 2025. It comes in four editions. The first-press limited Blu-ray and DVD come in a clamshell case with a 60-page live photobook, a "Pukkuri Ado-chan" charm drawn by Ado's image director ORIHARA and a glitter postcard. The standard Blu-ray and DVD include a 16-page booklet, and the Blu-ray editions feature Dolby Atmos sound for a more immersive home viewing experience.

The setlist covers 25 songs, including fan favourites "Odo", "Show", "Usseewa", "I-I-A" and "MAGIC", as well as "Kaze to Watashi no Monogatari" and covers of "Chandelier", "Suisei Ressha no Bell ga Naru" and "Unknown Mother-Goose". Fans who were there will remember the encore moment with a giant balloon of Ado's character "Ha-chan" topped with tuna sushi, and it is all captured on the disc.

Birthday week and Ado × Pusheen

Ado turns 24 on Saturday 24 October, and she is celebrating with fans at a members-only live show at Yoyogi National Gymnasium First Gymnasium on 24 and 25 October. Her birthday season also brings a sweet collaboration with Pusheen, featuring a chibi Ado with cat ears hugging Pusheen and a Pusheen plush dressed in Ado's signature blue rose. It is one of the cutest Ado collaborations so far and a lovely contrast to the dark energy of "Raven Sky".

More cover songs on the way

Looking further ahead, Ado's second cover album, Ado no Utattemita Album Sono 2, arrives on 23 December 2026 with around ten songs. The latest reveals are "La Gata Bajo La Lluvia", a 1981 Spanish-language classic, and "Fairytale," by buzzG from 2012. They join previously announced picks such as "Unknown Mother-Goose" by wowaka, "Kawaki wo Ameku" by Minami, "Kuchibashi ni Cherry" and Metallica's "Enter Sandman", showing just how wide Ado's musical range has become.
