Oct 20,2026 | Otaku Daily Shop UK

Chiikawa Pocket, the first official Chiikawa smartphone game, is about to release its fourth wave of official goods, and this one is all about lunchboxes and little shops. From Saturday 24 October 2026, fans in Japan can pick up seven plush mascots dressed as bento favourites, embroidered can badges, shopkeeper acrylic stands, T-shirts, roomy tote bags, towels, stickers and clear files, all based on the outfits the characters wear inside the game.

The launch comes with a new run of Chiikawa Pocket pop-up stores in five Japanese cities, starting in Tokyo on the same day and running through November. Here is everything in the wave 4 line-up and what makes it special.

What is Chiikawa Pocket?

Chiikawa Pocket, often shortened to "Chiipoke", is the first smartphone game based on Nagano's hugely popular Chiikawa manga. Developed by Applibot, it launched on 27 March 2025 in 43 countries and regions and brings together a collection of mini games, home decorating and dress-up, all built around the idea of spending time with Chiikawa and friends wherever you are. The characters' in-game outfits have become a big part of the fun, and each goods wave turns a new set of those costumes into real merch.

Bento mascots: lunchbox favourites you can hug

The headline item of wave 4 is a set of seven plush mascots, each dressed as a classic Japanese lunchbox treat. Chiikawa becomes a rice ball wrapped in a strip of nori, Hachiware is a bright red octopus-style sausage, Usagi turns into a crispy fried prawn, Momonga wears a fluffy broccoli hood with a purple bow, Rakko is a golden piece of fried chicken with a slice of lemon, Shisa is a rolled omelette and Kurimanju completes the box in a green side-dish costume. Together they look like a full bento, and the soft, fuzzy textures make them just as cute up close as they are lined up on a shelf.

Trading embroidered can badges

The bento theme continues with seven trading embroidered can badges. Instead of a printed face, each badge has an embroidered patch showing a character in their lunchbox outfit, which gives them a lovely textured, handmade feel. They are blind-packed, so collectors can enjoy the surprise of opening each one or aim for the full set of seven to pin across a bag or display board.

Shopkeeper acrylic stands

The second theme puts the characters behind the counter. The seven trading acrylic stands show everyone in little shopkeeper uniforms: Hachiware with a headband and a fish, Chiikawa in a pink apron, Usagi in a striped barber-style hat, Momonga with a doctor's head mirror, Kurimanju in a cap and green apron, Rakko with a smart bow tie and Shisa in a postal worker's cap. Each stand has a colourful base with the character's name, so they look great lined up like a tiny shopping street.

T-shirts in both themes

Each theme gets two T-shirt designs, offered in M, L and XL. The bento shirts feature playful lunchbox illustrations of the whole gang, while the shopkeeper shirts show the characters running their stalls. They are easy everyday pieces that work as well for a casual day out as they do for a Chiikawa meet-up.

Tote bags, towels, stickers and clear files

There is plenty for daily use too. Both themes include a large tote bag, a bath towel, a set of three hand towels, a clear file and seven stickers sized to fit on the back of a smartphone. The bento tote shows the seven characters packed together in a lunchbox, which makes it a cheerful bag for groceries or a packed lunch, and the hand towels come in soft pastel colours with simple character designs.

Pop-up stores across Japan

To celebrate wave 4, Chiikawa Pocket is opening a new round of pop-up stores. The Tokyo store opens first in Ikebukuro from 24 October to 23 November, followed by Osaka from 30 October to 15 November, Sendai from 3 to 23 November, Fukuoka from 6 to 23 November and Nagoya from 13 to 29 November 2026. Every purchase at the pop-ups comes with an original Chiipoke stamp (Vol. 4), and qualifying purchases also earn a special pop-up shopper bag and an "Autumn of Art" home item sticker, whose serial code unlocks a matching home decoration inside the game.

Why wave 4 stands out

Chiikawa merch often focuses on one big theme, but wave 4 gives fans two very different looks in one release. The bento mascots are some of the most charming costumes the characters have worn, and the embroidered badges and shopkeeper stands make collecting the full cast of seven really satisfying. For players of the game, the in-game bonuses add an extra reason to look out for these goods.
