Who is Junko Enoshima?

Junko Enoshima is the mastermind behind the killing game in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, a fashion icon whose love of despair drives the entire series. Her moods change in an instant, from cheerful to cruel to bored, and her ever-present companion Monokuma has become one of the most recognisable mascots in gaming. Fifteen years on, she remains one of the most popular characters in the franchise, so it is fitting that she leads the anniversary celebrations.

A pose full of attitude

Junko is caught mid-pose with a peace sign raised beside her face and that unmistakable grin. Her long strawberry-blonde twin tails sweep out behind her, and Good Smile Company has painted them with careful shading so every curl has depth. Her outfit is faithfully recreated, from the black jacket with rolled sleeves and loose white tie to the red bow, red pleated skirt and lace-up boots. Small touches such as her Monokuma hair clips and red nails complete the look.

Monokuma takes a swing

Monokuma, of course, has a starring role. He is posed swinging his wooden mallet at the famous red button, ready to send another student to their punishment. His half-white, half-black design and red eye are sharply painted, and he sits right beside Junko on the base, so the pair can be enjoyed together from the front.

Poor Monomi and the hidden Monokubs

On the other side of the base, a tearful Monomi looks about to be crushed beneath Junko's boot, a darkly funny touch that fans of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair will love. Look closely and you can also find the Monokubs hiding around the base: Monotaro, Monophanie and Monodam are all tucked into the scene, rewarding collectors who take the time to explore every angle.

A base inspired by the series' punishments

The base is a tribute to the whole series. It draws on some of Danganronpa's most memorable punishments, including Blast Off! and Blast Off! Second Ignition, The Burning of the Versailles Witch and PLEASE INSERT COIN. Look for the flames, the playful props and the pink, splattered motifs that tie the scene together, and the clear green parts beneath the base give the display a striking, almost glowing finish. From the back, you can enjoy the way her hair and the base details fit together into one dramatic composition.

Crafted for the 15th anniversary

The figure was sculpted by Ajiken and Koke, with paintwork by Kenji Ando and composition cooperation from Masaki Apsy. Together they have recreated the rich, deep texture of the original character design, layering colour into her hair, jacket and skin so that she looks just as striking in person as she does in the games. It is a celebratory piece built to reward close inspection.

Display tips

At about 28 cm tall with such a busy base, Junko works best as a centrepiece. A dark or red backdrop brings out her hair and the pink details, while a black and pink checkerboard surface echoes the series' classic look beautifully. She makes a wonderful partner for other Danganronpa figures, and leaving a little space around her lets you spot the Monokubs from different angles. Please note that the figure is designed to be displayed on its included stand.
