Inside Games (25 September 2026) reports that capsule-toy maker Parade will release Movie Chiikawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island Desktop Figures (映画ちいかわ 人魚の島のひみつ デスクトップフィギュア) in Japanese capsule-toy areas from late September 2026. There are four designs, and each one turns a scene from the film into a useful desk accessory: an accessory tray, a stamp stand, a phone stand and a pen stand.

The four designs

Accessory tray (Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi). The first design shows the three friends rowing a boat, and the boat itself becomes a little tray for clips, rings or other small bits. It is the most "movie poster" of the four, capturing the trio setting out on their island adventure.

Stamp stand (Momonga and Furuhonya). Next up is a hanko stand featuring Momonga and Furuhonya. In Japan a hanko, or personal name stamp, is still an everyday desk item, so a stand to hold one is a very practical piece. Outside Japan it works just as well as a holder for a stamp, a pen or a lip balm.

Phone stand (Chiikawa, Hachiware and Shimajiro). The third design is a phone stand with Chiikawa and Hachiware alongside Shimajiro (島二郎), one of the movie's characters. It is the most obviously useful of the set, propping up your phone for video calls, recipes or a spot of streaming while you work.

Pen stand (Siren). The final design is a pen stand featuring Siren (セイレーン), another character from the film. Siren is one of the new faces that make Mermaid Island merchandise stand out from regular Chiikawa goods, so this is likely to be the pick for fans who loved the film's new characters.
