Who is Iroha Isshiki?

Iroha Isshiki is one of the most popular characters in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Wataru Watari's light novel series about the cynical loner Hachiman Hikigaya and the Service Club at Sobu High School. A younger student who ends up as student council president with a little help from Hachiman, Iroha is known for her sly, playful charm and the way she cheerfully drags her "senpai" into her plans. Behind the act, though, she has a sincere side, and that hidden honesty is exactly what this figure sets out to capture.

Ponkan8's illustration in 3D

Ponkan8's soft, delicate art style is a huge part of the series' appeal, and Good Smile Company has worked to faithfully capture the atmosphere of the original illustration. The colours are gentle and warm, from Iroha's honey-brown hair to the pale scarf and the subtle blush on her cheeks, so the figure feels like a page of the light novel brought to life.

A winter's day scene

Every detail has been carefully sculpted to evoke a cold winter day. Iroha wears her navy school blazer over a mustard cardigan, with a blue plaid skirt, dark socks and loafers, and a long, loosely wrapped scarf with fringed ends hanging down in front. The textures of the scarf and uniform are clearly defined, and from behind you can see how her hair falls softly over the blazer and scarf.

The gift in her hands

The heart of the figure is the small wrapped gift that Iroha holds gently up to her face with both hands. Paired with her reserved, slightly shy expression, it turns the figure into a fleeting moment that reveals her true feelings, a very different side of her from the teasing junior fans know from the story.

What is the G.S. Collection?

Good Smile Collection, or G.S. Collection, is Good Smile Company's own line of scale figures. It focuses on detailed, display-ready pieces at classic collector scales, and at 1/6 Iroha is a little larger than a typical 1/7 figure, giving her real presence on a shelf while keeping the simple round base neat and easy to display.

Display ideas

The warm, wintry palette looks especially lovely against a soft pastel or light background, and gentle lighting brings out the blush on her cheeks and the texture of her scarf. If you have other My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU figures, Iroha fits beautifully alongside Yukino and Yui, and she also makes a sweet seasonal display piece for the colder months.

Why fans will love her

Iroha has long been a favourite with SNAFU readers, and a figure based directly on the light novel art, rather than the anime, is a special treat for fans of Ponkan8's work. The quiet pose and gift in her hands make it feel like a scene from the story itself, and at 1/6 scale she is a substantial, premium-looking piece for any romantic comedy collection.
