About "Patient A"

The song is written and composed by Yoeko, a rising songwriter whose sharp, theatrical style suits Ado's huge vocal range. Ado has always loved working with new creators from Japan's online music scene, and "Patient A" continues that tradition with a song that moves between quiet tension and explosive release.

A monochrome music video

The music video is illustrated by manga artist Kobone Tomo and produced by video creator Cymo. It is drawn entirely in black and white, and shows Ado as a student in a drama club at the fictional "Nico Nico High School". The nod to Nico Nico, where Ado first began posting covers, is a sweet detail for long-time fans, and the manga-style art makes the MV feel like a short comic come to life.

A birthday gift for fans

Ado often uses her birthday to share something special with fans, and a surprise single is one of the best gifts a singer can give. Following a busy year of releases and live shows, "Patient A" is a reminder that she is still pushing her sound in new directions. If you have not heard it yet, it is well worth a listen on your favourite streaming service.
