Madoka Magica GLASSCAPE Madoka and Homura

The GLASSCAPE line is one of Banpresto's prettiest, with clear, glass-like effect parts that catch the light. This wave adds the two heroines of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. GLASSCAPE Madoka Kaname is about 18cm, seated in front of a round, stained-glass style frame in soft pink, with her magical girl outfit and red shoes.

GLASSCAPE Homura Akemi, also about 18cm, sits in front of a matching purple frame in a dark outfit, showing her cool, quiet side. The two figures are designed as a pair, and their story is at the heart of the series, so they are well worth displaying together.

Yu Yu Hakusho MAXIMATIC Hiei

Yu Yu Hakusho is still loved by fans more than 30 years after the anime first aired, and Hiei is one of its most popular characters. MAXIMATIC Hiei is about 23cm tall. MAXIMATIC figures are known for their bold scale and detail, and Hiei stands in his black outfit with purple Darkness Flame effect parts rising behind him. It is a great pick for fans of the Dark Tournament era and an eye-catching piece on any shelf.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Rimuru Tempest

The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Rimuru Tempest figure is about 25cm, one of the taller figures in this wave. Rimuru stands on a rocky base under a full moon, with long blue hair and a dark outfit with a flowing cape. The moody base makes it feel like a scene from the anime rather than a simple standing figure.

Demon Slayer and Frieren

Demon Slayer fans get two new VIBRATION STARS figures: Mitsuri Kanroji and Muichiro Tokito, about 11 x 16cm each. VIBRATION STARS figures are known for their energetic poses, so the Love Hashira and the Mist Hashira make a lively pair. Their compact size means they fit easily alongside larger Demon Slayer figures you may already own.

From Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, the SOFVIMATES Frieren figure, about 13cm, is a cute soft vinyl version of the elf mage. Its compact size makes it easy to fit on a desk or a crowded shelf.

Hyouka, Uzaki-chan and Ohisashiburi

The wave also includes some lovely picks for fans of romance and slice-of-life anime. GLITTER & GLAMOURS Eru Chitanda from Hyouka is about 26cm and is the tallest of the Hyouka prize figures and a lovely pick for fans of the Classics Club. From Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, the ETERNAL ROMANCE Tsuki Uzaki figure is about 28cm.

Fans of Ohisashiburi can collect two ESPRESTO figures, each about 23cm. ESPRESTO Nacchan wears a pale blue and white maid outfit, while ESPRESTO Micchan completes the pair in a black and red maid outfit. The two designs mirror each other, so they look best side by side.

Finally, the Garden Wars VIBRATION STARS figure rounds off the wave for fans of the series.

Why prize figures are worth collecting

Prize figures are made for crane games and arcades in Japan, and they are usually much more affordable than scale figures. Lines like GLASSCAPE, MAXIMATIC and GLITTER & GLAMOURS have pushed the quality up in recent years, so they make a great way to build a collection across many series. Because they are made in limited runs for arcades, popular characters can be hard to find later, which is why pre-ordering is the safest option.
