Chiikawa Eating Meat Bun Mascots and Sweatshirt Rakko: Pre-Orders Live for 9 October Drop
Oct 04,2026 | Otaku Daily Shop UK
Chiikawa’s next pocket-sized drop is pure comfort food energy. From Thursday 9 October 2026, Japan shops begin rolling out the “Eating Meat Bun” mascots for Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi and Momonga, plus a Sweatshirt-style Sea Otter (Rakko) mascot that looks ready for a park stroll. The same window also brings fresh Chiikawa Sushi series kitchen pieces.
Below is what we know about the line-up, the UK-time calendar, and where Otaku Daily already has pre-orders live for the meat bun and Rakko mascots — with sushi tableware available as separate pre-orders too.

Eating Meat Bun mascots for the main cast
The headline set is called “I’m Going to Eat a Meat Bun” (肉まんたべるよ). Each of the four mascots — Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi and Momonga — comes dressed for a chilly snack run, with a knitted scarf and a tiny nikuman prop that matches the character’s personality. Chiikawa clutches a whole bun; Usagi presses one to its face; Momonga looks thoroughly pleased with a bite-sized scrap; Hachiware sits ready with a round bun in paw.
They are classic Chiikawa bag charms: soft, palm-sized, and styled for autumn photos. If you already collect the seasonal mascots, this set is the cosy food-theme counterpart to last month’s bakery and lounge pieces.

Sweatshirt-style Rakko
Landing on the same day is the Sweatshirt-style Sea Otter mascot. Rakko appears in a grey hoodie-and-trousers set, strawberry bud on the head, and a tiny drink can tucked into the look — the sort of everyday outfit fans have wanted on a keychain for ages. Lifestyle shots show him on a miniature park bench and cupped in two hands, which makes the scale easy to judge before you decide how many scarves and otters your bag can carry.

Chiikawa Sushi series kitchen pieces
Alongside the mascots, Chiikawa Sushi series goods are rolling out in stages from 9 October. Promotional styling shows character placemats, a sushi-print tea cup, a checkered rice bowl, wooden chopsticks and ceramic chopstick rests with nigiri-themed art. It is the same “let’s eat” mood as the meat bun charms, just for the table instead of the zip pocket.
On Otaku Daily, several of those kitchen pieces are already open as separate pre-orders — including chopsticks, a water-repellent yunomi tea cup, a sushi rice bowl, and Restaurant OKINAWA placemat and towel sets. They are related sushi and restaurant goods rather than a single boxed kit, so treat each listing on its own if you are building a matching table.

Why this drop matters for collectors
Food-theme Chiikawa mascots tend to move quickly because they photograph well and slot into existing bag-charm shelves. Pairing four scarf-and-bun designs with a fully dressed Rakko gives both the main cast and the otter fans something new on the same calendar day. Adding sushi placemats and chopstick rests on top means you can theme a whole snack corner, not just a zipper pull.
For UK readers, the useful part is that Otaku Daily already has the mascot five-pack path live, so you do not need to wait and wonder whether the 9 October Japan start will ever appear here. Check each product page for reservation notes, then decide whether you want the full meat bun set, Rakko alone, or a sushi placemat on the side.
