Chiikawa Jet Take-Off Date Confirmed: ANA’s Chiikawa 767 Flies From 19 October (Campaign and Collab Goods Explained)

Oct 06,2026 | Otaku Daily Shop UK

Chiikawa is about to take to the skies. ANA (All Nippon Airways) confirmed on Tuesday 6 October 2026 that its special-livery Chiikawa Jet will begin scheduled domestic flights in Japan on Monday 19 October, and it also revealed the in-flight extras and a two-phase launch campaign.

To be clear about what is new: the ANA × Chiikawa tie-up and a “late October” jet were first announced on 3 August 2026. Today’s update fills in the details fans were waiting for, from the first flight and route list to the cabin goodies and campaign prizes. Here is everything we know so far.

Meet the Chiikawa Jet

The aircraft is a Boeing 767-300, registration JA609A. ANA says the design features eight characters, including Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi, surrounded by motifs you can spot across Japan through all four seasons. The two sides of the plane carry different arrangements, and ANA’s own artwork invites fans to look for a hidden four-leaf clover, so expect plenty of plane-spotting photos once it starts flying.

The idea behind the collaboration is a sweet one. ANA compares Chiikawa and friends, who keep overcoming difficulties together, with the many colleagues it takes to keep an aeroplane in the air.

What is on board

The fun continues in the cabin. In economy class, the Chiikawa Jet has special headrest covers featuring the characters from the livery, and limited-design cups showing Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi. ANA says there is one cup design, used for both hot and cold drinks.

A friendly warning for anyone hoping to bring one home: the headrest covers cannot be taken off the plane. ANA has also asked passengers not to request crew autographs or log-book messages, for security reasons.

First flight and routes

The first scheduled service is ANA661 from Tokyo Haneda to Nagasaki on Monday 19 October 2026, departing at 00:15 BST (08:15 in Japan) and returning as ANA664 from Nagasaki. After that, ANA says the jet will not stick to one route but will hop between many domestic routes. Exact routes are decided on the day according to operations.

  • Until Saturday 24 October: Haneda to New Chitose (Sapporo), Itami (Osaka), Matsuyama, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Nagasaki and Naha (Okinawa), plus Itami to New Chitose and Nagoya to New Chitose and Naha.
  • From Sunday 25 October: Haneda routes expand to include Hakodate, Yonago, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Ube, Kochi, Kagoshima and Ishigaki, alongside Itami to New Chitose and Naha, Nagoya to New Chitose and Naha, and Fukuoka to New Chitose.

The “Let’s go on a trip with Chiikawa!” campaign

To mark the launch, ANA is running a two-phase prize draw. Both prizes are non-sale items made only for this campaign.

  • Phase 1: register for the campaign through ANA’s “My Campaign” page and log in to the ANA app with an ANA Mileage Club account. No flight is needed. 500 winners receive an original Chiikawa × ANA acrylic stand.
  • Phase 1 registration: from Monday 19 October 2026 at 02:00 BST until Thursday 31 December 2026 at 14:59 GMT.
  • Phase 2: having completed Phase 1, take at least one eligible ANA domestic flight between 1 February and 30 April 2027. 100 winners receive an original Chiikawa × ANA passport case, whose design is still “Coming soon”.
  • Prize delivery: early February 2027 for Phase 1 and around early June 2027 for Phase 2, to Japanese addresses only.

The acrylic stand is a lovely little piece: a cut-out of the jet itself with Chiikawa characters along the fuselage, standing on a clear base with the Chiikawa × ANA logo. Because prizes are only sent within Japan, UK fans should treat the campaign as something to admire rather than enter.

Collab goods are coming, but not yet detailed

This is the part many collectors will care about most. ANA says collaboration merchandise is planned, featuring Chiikawa and friends dressed in ANA uniforms, and it has shared a teaser line-up of the characters as pilots, cabin crew, engineers and ground staff. The items themselves, prices and dates have not been announced yet, and both the goods and the passport case design will be revealed at a later date.

We will not guess at the line-up, but the uniformed designs already look like strong candidates for plushies, mascots and acrylics, so this is one to keep an eye on.

What we know, and what we do not

  • Confirmed: the Boeing 767-300 Chiikawa Jet (JA609A), the 19 October first flight, the route lists above, the economy headrest covers and cups, and both campaign phases with their prizes.
  • Not yet announced: the uniformed collab goods, how and when they will be sold, and the passport case design.
  • Japan only: the jet flies domestic routes and campaign prizes ship only to Japanese addresses.
