Chiikawa Phone Smart Toy: 70 Apps, Kirarin Drops and 31 October Japan Release

Bandai Toys is giving Chiikawa a proper pocket phone. Chiikawa Phone Smart (フォンすまーと) is a rechargeable smartphone-style toy packed with 70 apps, shop-play games, camera tools and glittery Kirarin Drop charms, with a Japan release set for Saturday 31 October 2026. A Special Set adds six drops plus a dedicated charm for fans who want the full cast on one chain.

Below is what the toy includes, how the two sets differ, and an honest note on Otaku Daily availability. Otaku Daily currently does not open orders for placing these items; please use Contact Us to ask for a quote.

What is Chiikawa Phone Smart?

Think of it as a kid-friendly smartphone that lives entirely inside Chiikawa’s world. The standard set ships with the phone body, a touch stylus on a cord, three Kirarin Drop charms on ball chains, a spare cord and a USB Type-C cable. The battery is a built-in rechargeable cell, so play sessions are not tied to a drawer of AA cells. Official guidance lists ages 6 and up.

The big promise is volume: seventy apps cover shop management, telephone and messaging with the characters, camera frames and stamps, calendars, calculators, mini games and more. Character voices are built in, which is the detail that usually sells Chiikawa toys to households that already know the anime lines by heart.

Kirarin Drops and shop play

Kirarin Drops are glitter star charms with character faces. Scan the code on the back and that character becomes the shop manager for your store games. The standard set includes Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi. The Special Set expands to six drops — Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi, Momonga, Kurimanju and Shisa — plus a cloud-shaped charm base you can hang from the phone.

Shop Mode is the toy’s long-play loop. There are six shop types to place on a park map: flower shop, photo studio, conveyor-belt sushi, jewellery shop, dry cleaners and bakery. You can give snacks to the manager, clean the shop, run part-time job mini games, earn coins and rank shops up until the building grows. Official materials also mention meeting a wide cast of town characters and filling a town log as you play.

Camera apps, calls and everyday tools

Away from the shops, the phone leans into photo play and “real phone” habits. Camera apps let you shoot with Chiikawa photo frames and decorate with stamps. There are telephone and messaging apps for chatting with the cast, plus practical tools such as a calendar, calculator, timer, alarm and to-do list. An in-toy app store lets players spend coins earned in shop games on extra downloads, which keeps the seventy-app count feeling like a shelf you grow into rather than a single menu screen.

Standard set vs Special Set

Both versions share the same game content. The choice is mainly about charms and colourway. The standard set is the blue phone with three Kirarin Drops. The Special Set uses a pink body and packs six drops plus the exclusive charm, which is the clearer pick if Momonga, Kurimanju and Shisa are non-negotiable for your child or your display shelf.

• Standard set contents: phone, stylus with cord, three Kirarin Drops with ball chains, spare cord, USB Type-C cable.
• Special Set contents: phone, stylus with cord, six Kirarin Drops with ball chains, dedicated charm with cord, USB Type-C cable.

Key dates in UK time

Japan is eight hours ahead of the UK while British Summer Time is still in force. On the changeover weekend at the end of October, check the product page clock carefully if you are planning a Japan purchase through a quote.

• Japan release: Saturday 31 October 2026.
• Ages: 6 and up.
• Formats: standard Chiikawa Phone Smart and Chiikawa Phone Smart Special Set.

What we know, and what we do not

• Confirmed: seventy apps, Kirarin Drop scanning, six shop types, rechargeable USB-C charging, ages 6+, 31 October Japan release, and the Special Set’s six-drop plus charm bundle.
• Not mentioned: nothing in the Bandai materials describes a dedicated UK retail launch for this toy, so we treat it as Japan news for now.

Otaku Daily and Chiikawa Phone Smart

Why collectors and families are watching

Chiikawa already owns soft goods and bag charms; a full smartphone toy is a different kind of daily-play item. Kirarin Drops give the set a physical collectible hook, while the shop loop and seventy apps aim at longer sessions than a single button-sound gadget. For parents, the USB-C rechargeable design and 6+ age line are the practical checklist items; for collectors, the Special Set’s six-drop chain is the display piece.
