Moomin fans, this one is for you. On 29 September 2026, Bandai Spirits revealed the complete line-up for Ichiban Kuji Moomin ~A day like this~, a new lottery-style prize range in which every ticket wins something. The star of the show is the A prize, a room light featuring Little My and a Hattifattener, and the full list also includes a ceramic relief mug, a blanket, plush mascots and a ceramic plate with the Moominhouse. It goes on sale in Japan on Friday 23 October 2026.
We should be clear from the start that this is a Japan-market kuji. It is not a UK release, and Otaku Daily does not have it in stock. We are covering it because Moomin has a great following in the UK, and the prize list is the most complete and useful one we have seen this week.

What is an Ichiban Kuji?
Ichiban Kuji is Bandai Spirits' long-running character lottery format. Fans buy a ticket and receive a prize according to the ticket's letter, from A down to the lower grades. This Moomin edition is a "no blanks" kuji, which means there are no losing tickets and everything in the line-up is a prize. You can browse the wider format in our Bandai Ichiban Kuji collection.
The full prize list
These details come straight from the official line-up, and sizes are approximate.
- A prize, Room Light (about 14 cm): based on a scene from the Moomin comic, in which Little My uses a Hattifattener that has absorbed lightning to power a bulb. The bulb lights up when switched on.
- B prize, Relief Mug (ceramic, about 8.5 cm): a raised Moomin with friends around him.
- C prize, Blanket (about 85 cm): Hattifatteners on the front and character expressions on the back. It rolls up to look like a Hattifattener.
- D prize, Desktop Figure (choose from 2): Moomin as a phone stand of about 6 cm, or the Ancestor as a card stand of about 5 cm.
- E prize, Plush Mascot (3 to choose from, with ball chain): Moomin, Stinky and the Groke (Morran), each about 6 to 8 cm.
- F prize, 1 Week Plate (7 to choose from, about 7.5 cm): the characters in different expressions.
- G prize, Pouch (5 designs, about 11 cm).
- H prize, Hand Towel (5 designs, about 20 cm).
- Last One prize, Ceramic Plate with Moominhouse (about 15 cm): comes with a divider, and the last ticket wins it.

The A prize: Little My and the Hattifatteners
The room light is clearly designed as the centrepiece. It recreates a comic scene in which Little My puts a Hattifattener to work. The official page names the source story in Japanese, and we do not want to guess at an English title, so we will simply call it a scene from the Moomin comic. The pictures show the light on and off, and the switched-on version has a warm, cosy glow that suits the cosy mood of the whole range.

Everyday prizes with a homely feel
The rest of the list leans towards the home and the desk. The mug and plate are the sort of items you could use every day, the blanket suits a sofa, and the plush mascots and desktop figures are small enough to sit beside a monitor. A few things stand out:
- The blanket: it has two personalities, with Hattifatteners on the front and different character expressions on the back, and it rolls up into a Hattifattener shape.
- The desktop figures: the Moomin phone stand and the Ancestor card stand are practical as well as cute.
- The plush trio: Moomin, Stinky and the Groke, each with a ball chain so they can be hung from a bag or a shelf.

Double Chance campaign
There is also a Double Chance campaign running from release until the end of January 2027. The prize is another A prize room light, with 30 winners in total across in-store and online entries. Like the kuji itself, this belongs to the Japanese market.

Dates and how it sells in Japan
The times below are in UK time.
- Line-up revealed: 29 September 2026.
- On sale from: Friday 23 October 2026, in stages.
- Online sales start: 23 October at 05:00 UK time (BST).
- Where: official Moomin shops, Moominvalley Park, official Ichiban Kuji shops and the Ichiban Kuji online store, all in Japan.
- Good to know: the official notes say stock varies by shop and ends when it runs out, start dates may differ by shop, and the pictures may differ from the final products.
What this means for UK fans
This is a Japan-market release, and we have no information about a UK sale. Otaku Daily currently does not open orders for placing these items.
